Cloudy Bay
I was raised in Marlborough, and Rarangi, a small coastal settlement on the far northeast of Cloudy Bay, was a place we visited for beach picnics. Only 15 minutes drive from Blenheim, the road trip always seemed to take an eternity when measured through the eyes of a child. Rarangi always felt remote and wild, but not on this day.
