One Fine Day
Rārangi is a remote beach settlement located at the very top of the South Island's East Coast. Its name means place where the sun rises and on a fine day, the north island is plain to see. Rārangi is a place from my childhood; remote, wild, desolate and exciting. Coming back with my son 40 years later was very special. His memory will be shaped by this one car ride with his grandparents. His memory will be this one fine day at Rārangi; sunny, calm, connected .... perfect.
