Colour Me Joy
Colour is such an important part of my wall art photography and my life, but up until recently, I never gave much thought as to why that was the case.
With a bit of research, I discovered that colour doesn't just impact our visual senses, but it also plays a leading role in how we feel!
So, What’s your favourite colour?
The colours that we surround ourselves with - through our wardrobe, our interior decor and our exterior spaces - have the ability to influence and alter our mood. Let’s explore how some of the major colours may be messing with our moods.
Hello SunshineNo surprises on what yellow sparks – a whole bundle of joy, optimism and positive energy. It’s playful and vibrant and therefore an excellent highlight colour to use in your décor. |
Cool and CalmBlue carries with it an overwhelming sense of calmness, serenity and stability. Like water, many people find blue peaceful which makes it a great colour for bedrooms. For others. however, blue can also spark feelings of sadness hence the phrase – I feel blue. |
Seeing RedThere’s no doubt about it, red arouses the emotions big time! Passion, excitement, energy; when red is around it can stimulate a powerhouse of emotions. |
Science and Hearts
One final but important note. How individual colours affect us is highly personal because individual experiences can strongly influence what feelings we associate with individual colours. At the end of the day, pay attention to what your instincts are telling you about a colour rather than science and then embrace it or avoid it!
