Spring Summer Trends 2023
Setting your style compass for 2023
Whether it’s a few energising edits or a full-scale overhaul, 2023 trends are bringing our focus back to soft colour palettes, restorative spaces, natural textures and bringing the outside-in. Here are a few of my favourite 2023 trends.
Introduce some resort luxe to your home
What does resort decor conjure up for you? For me, it's a light, airy coastal look that is simple and pared back. It's about texture and natural influences like linen bedware, earthenware accessories and seagrass rugs.
Bring a relaxed and restorative feel to your decor
The colour palette is beautifully soft; the feel is relaxed and restorative. It's the home decor equivalent of a breath of fresh air! If budgets are tight, bathroom and bedroom accessories are a great starting point. A crisp white paint on the walls is another DIY resort transformation in the making.
Justina Blakeney, owner of Los Angeles interior design business, Jungalow, has made this botanical aesthetic timeless and wildly appealing. At its core, it pays homage to nature with lots house plants, colours and textures. This is no place for one-note styling, it’s eclectic, joyful and restorative. Exactly what we all need to break free from our winter hibernation.
Reuse and Recycle
One trend that is here to stay is breathing new life into what we already have. It could be a chair, a coffee table, or a cabinet, but at the end of your project, you will have created a one-of-a-kind piece that will match your space and not make a dent in your finances.
Bring a breath of fresh air to your walls
And finally, one of the easiest ways to re-energise a space is to change your wall art. Move your wall art around the house to give each space a breath of fresh air or have a set of spring/summer and autumn/winter art.
Seasonal changeouts will help to give your art longevity and will also change up the mood in each space. Swapping out other accessories at the same time like throw pillows, glassware or ceramics can also really help to give new energy to a room for the new season.
